International Program
USAWE International Program
The USA Working Equitation (USAWE) International Program will provide access to in-person, one-on-one training and coaching by international-caliber individuals. The mission of the International Committee (IC) is to:
-
- Identify and support riders with the talent and ability to reach international competition status within a 2- to 3-year time frame.
- Establish and facilitate a team selection process.
- Facilitate and support team attendance at international competitions, both domestic and overseas.
- Enable the educational material provided to candidate competitors to be disseminated to the entire USAWE membership through the USAWE website, eNews, partnership with other committees, and material offered on the WE Education Resource Center (coming soon).
USAWE High Performance Riders
The USAWE International Committee oversees a roster of declared USAWE High Performance Riders (HPR). These riders have successfully competed in USAWE Licensed Shows at the Advanced and/or Masters levels in 2024 and/or thus far in 2025, and have confirmed their interest in joining the HPR team. New team members can be added as they become eligible. The USA International Team for the 2026 WAWE World Championship in Spain will be selected from the High Performance Riders who meet the WAWE and USAWE qualifying requirements.
The bare minimum requirement, which must be met to be considered for participation at the World Championship, is membership in USAWE and having earned an official Qualifying Score from a WAWE judge at a WAWE-designated Qualifying Competition (62% or higher in both Dressage and EOH, no DQ in speed).
The team will be seleted from among the members who have met the bare minimum requirements, considering, among other factors: how high the qualifying score(s) were, and the average of three highest-scoring Master’s level rides (average Dressage/EOH) during the qualification period.
